The third and final ODI between India and the West Indies was one of the best testimony of batting prowess of the men in blue. Chasing an unexpectedly high total of 315 runs in Cuttack, the Men in Blue got a solid start thanks to the 122-run partnership for the first wicket between openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.

Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja set the platform for India

Following Sharma’s wicket, it was the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, who show who played his typical knock that he does when his side is chasing, brought India to a comfortable position but enabled Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja to win the match with eight balls to spare.

After the match, it was time for Harsha Bhogle to interview the duo of Thakur and Jadeja. Bhogle being the great analyst of the game asked Thakur about his ability to bat, which stayed with him during the chase. He then moved to Jadeja and asked him a question too. But, he made a mistake by asking Jadeja the question in Hindi! And when Jadeja replied to his question in English, Bhogle immediately shifted to English and the rest of the interview went smoothly.

However, the trolls of the internet got enough to call the commentator out and that’s exactly what they did!

While Bhogle has been known to ignore such trolls normally, he made an exception with the whole Jadeja issue. He brilliantly described the situation and why he did what he did.

In his tweet after the match, Bhogle wrote: “Okay, since I have been flooded with responses on this…. In a post match presentation, you always go in the language the player is most comfortable in. I’ve known Jadeja for 10 yrs now and so began in his language. The moment he indicated he was good to go in English, I shifted”.

Fortunately, while there were trolls on the internet waiting for roast him, there were the rational ones as well who supported him for doing the sensible thing:
