Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fast bowler, Harshal Patel has said that even though he managed to pick up 10 wickets in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, he is not happy with the way he is bowling. Notably, Harshal was one of the crucial cogs for RCB in the last couple of editions as his variations were difficult for the batters to decipher.

In IPL 2023, he has not managed to do much for the team in the season so far. In fact, other than Mohammed Siraj, no other RCB bowler has impressed this season. Analyzing his own performance, Harshal stated that he is giving freebies to the batters and wants to cut that down and improve in certain areas.

During a recent chat with India Today, Harshal Patel said, “I have got 10 wickets but not happy with the way I am bowling. There are a few areas I want to still correct and want to work on. Yeah, I have done reviews after every game, I think I am giving many freebies, I wanna cut down on them.”

He further added, “The conditions are obviously suited to my kind of bowling, and coming from Bangalore it’s good to see the long boundaries as a bowler. Looking at their batters we need to bowl well and cut down the boundaries.”

The pacer proved to be economical against LSG in RCB’s recent games, as he conceded just 20 runs and also picked up a wicket in 3.5 overs. Batting first, the Faf du Plessis-led side only managed to reach the total of 126 runs on the board as Virat Kohli and the skipper himself gave a perfect start to the visiting team.

However, the middle order once again failed to perform and that is one area that RCB needs to improve immediately. Eventually, RCB pulled off a stunning win over LSG, struggled throughout and fell 16 runs short in the end. With that, they remained third on the IPL Points Table while RCB moved to number five.
