Purple Cap holder in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Harshal Patel has managed to make his position at the numero uno piston even stronger in the leading wicket-takers list by claiming a hat-trick against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday in Dubai.
During the game against MI, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer, Harshal got the wickets of Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Rahul Chahar on three consecutive deliveries of 17th over of MIs chase. With Chahar’s wicket, Harshal became the third RCB bowler to take an IPL hat-trick after Praveen Kumar and Samuel Badree.

RCB captain handed the ball to Harshal with Hardik and Pollard on strike and on the first ball itself, he dismissed Hardik Pandya. The MI allrounder flung his bat on a slow one but failed to make contact with the ball and Kohli took an easy catch.
On the next ball, Harshal tricked Kieron Pollard with another slow delivery and the West Indies skipper had to go back to the pavilion. Harshal completed his hat-trick by dismissing Rahul Chahar LBW on the first ball for a golden duck. This is the first hat-trick of the season.
