Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali endured another awkward moment on the field after a routine piece of fielding turned into an embarrassing boundary during the Big Bash League clash between Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers. A clip of the incident has since gone viral on social media, adding to Pakistan cricket’s growing list of talking points in recent days.

The moment occurred on Tuesday night as the Melbourne Stars chased a modest target of 84. At 35/2 in the eighth over, left-arm spinner Tabraiz Shamsi delivered a ball that was gently worked towards the cover region. Hasan Ali charged in from the deep, appearing well-positioned to cut it off comfortably. However, in a lapse of judgment, the ball bounced awkwardly off his hand and trickled over the boundary rope.

Despite Hasan’s full-length dive and visible frustration, the third umpire eventually signalled a four after checking the replay. The clip was widely shared across platforms, with both Fox Sports and the official Big Bash League handles amplifying the moment, prompting mixed reactions from fans and pundits alike.

The incident came barely 24 hours after another uncomfortable episode involving a Pakistan international in the BBL. On Monday, Mohammad Rizwan became the first overseas player in league history to be retired out during the Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Renegades encounter. Struggling to accelerate in the latter half of the innings, Rizwan managed 26 off 23 balls, including two fours and a six, before being called back by the Renegades’ dugout to inject momentum.

Adding to the narrative, Tuesday’s match itself turned out to be a one-sided affair. England all-rounder Tom Curran produced a career-best spell, dismantling the Adelaide Strikers’ batting lineup as they were bowled out for just 83 in the final over. The Melbourne Stars chased the target with ease, capping off a dominant performance on a night that once again put the spotlight on Pakistan players for all the wrong reasons.
