Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami bowled some clinical spells as the visitors bowled out England for 287 in the first Test at Edgbaston on Wednesday. Shami, who finished with 3/64, revealed that his love for the game helped him through the tough times. However, antagonizing wife Hasin Jahan made a shocking claim on Thursday on Shami’s fraud age.
Hasin posted a bunch of photographs of Shami’s official documents on Facebook – Class 10 mark sheet, Class 12 mark sheet, driving license, voter-ID card, and chequebook – all in a bid to display that the pacer fudged his age. According to one of the documents, Shami’s date of birth is March 9, 1990, implying his age to be 28 years.

However, his class 10 mark sheet and a driving license have different figures mentioned in it. While, the date of birth on the mark sheet is January 3, 1984, the same on the driving license is May 5, 1982, implying his age to be 34, 36 respectively. There is a third mark sheet which shows the date of birth as September 3, 1990. The year of birth is same as per his information on BCCI.

Meanwhile, Shami, who bowled brilliantly against England in the first Test that fetched him three wickets in the first innings, opened up about his tough times after day one. He said, “(The tour of) South Africa was a long time ago and there have been some off-field issues after that. I had to fight a lot in between but my effort was that I have to keep doing what I love most and what is most important to me (cricket). There are ups and downs in life and in your family. But when playing for your country there is a responsibility and when you do that job properly, I think that’s the best thing. So I am very happy with today.”
