Sri Lankan cricket is not in a very good shape as they were seen dragging on the met throughout this year. In order to turn things upside down, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) hired a new coach in form of Chandika Hathurusingha, who quit the same job from Bangladesh.

Hathurusingha was asked about his take over players listing music during the practice session, he replied “If they are interested in music they will have to go home.”

Sri Lanka will be visiting Bangladesh from next month for a full series, which he sees as the new beginning for them after a string of defeats in 2017. However, he needs full control over team selection and playing XI despite SLC’s law not allowing a coach to do this.

“I need full control and responsibility to pick the playing eleven,” he said. “According to the sports law the coach can’t get involved in selections. They are considering my request to be a selector while being the coach.”

Former SL batsman has been very active in coaching cricket teams around the globe. Earlier, he was working with Australian domestic team New South Wales before getting into Bangladeshi setup. He is eyeing to uplift Sri Lanka cricket team before World Cup 2019.
