Former Australian batter Michael Clarke called Team India spinner Kuldeep Yadav the best current all-format spinner ahead of the India-West Indies ODI series. He has been in and out of the Indian side across all three formats despite his stellar numbers. However, he has 369 wickets across formats for Team India at a great strike rate of 28.40 in 194 outings.

When he was asked about the best all-format current spinner, Clarke said on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast, “There are very few spinners playing all three formats. I think Kuldeep Yadav is the best all-format spinner in the world at the moment. He’s a very good short-form bowler. But he’s not getting enough opportunities. Though I think he’ll play for India against Australia.”

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke showed concerns about the fitness of Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya ahead of India’s 2026 series against the West Indies. He has not played for India since the 2026 T20 World Cup, which ended in early March as well.

Talking about Hardik Pandya’s fitness concerns, Clarke said on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast: “This comeback for Hardik has been rough. Throughout the IPL, he was super inconsistent with playing games back-to-back. He is the type of player who needs to be on the field. His general fitness is solid. He doesn’t carry much weight and is strong. But he needs to be batting in the middle and bowling overs.”
