Rajasthan Royals (RR) bought Chetan Sakariya for Rs 1.20 crores. He, however, repaid the faith by the franchise with his stunning spell. He impressed everyone as he managed to claim the wickets of several big names, including KL Rahul and MS Dhoni.

However, he ended up taking 7 wickets in 7 matches but had impressed everyone with his skills with the new ball as well as in the death overs too. He was doing well until the tournament got postponed due to rising cases of Covid-19 in its bio-bubble.

Meanwhile, former India opener Aakash Chopra was quite impressed with the left-arm pace bowler. He even called him the real deal as well. He also explained why Chetan Sakariya was the surprise of the cash-rich league in the latest video on his YouTube channel, and he also named Sakariya as one of the top six uncapped Indian players who have impressed him the most in the league.

“He [Sakariya] took all of us by surprise. He is the real deal. How impressive he has been, he can make the ball go out and come in. He has both the back of the hand and a normal slower one. Even if he gets hit, he has the talent of quickly bouncing back and with the same level of confidence. If you talk about temperament and technique, there is a lot to like about him. I think Indian cricket can see a rising star in Chetan Sakariya,” said Aakash Chopra.
