Indian Premier League presenter Tanay Tiwari recently shared a heartwarming story about how Rohit Sharma helped save his budding career with an act of calm and kindness during an awkward moment. While interviewing Rohit early in his career, Tiwari accidentally spilt hot coffee on the star cricketer.

Despite the mishap happening at a cramped setup with a tiny table and camera equipment, Rohit’s reaction was surprisingly composed and understanding. Tanay Tiwari recounted the incident on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, revealing how he feared the worst after the spill.
“I was an intern with the Mumbai Indians back in 2017, and while I was interviewing Rohit, I accidentally knocked over the coffee. There was a member of his team who scolded me quite harshly, and I was just 21 years old. I felt like my career was over before it even began,” he said.

However, Rohit’s response was far from what Tiwari expected. The star batsman brushed off the incident without any anger, telling him, “Jaane de yaar, baccha hai” (let it go, he’s a kid). Rohit reassured Tiwari that it was just coffee and encouraged him to move on. “He saved my career then,” Tiwari reflected.
