Merely three days ago, false reports swirled about the demise of former Zimbabwean all-rounder, Heath Streak. The misleading news even prompted his fellow teammate, Henry Olonga, to express his sorrow upon hearing the news of Streak’s alleged passing. However, these reports turned out to be a death hoax, as confirmed by Henry Olonga himself. In reality, the legendary all-rounder is currently battling Stage 4 liver and colon cancer, undergoing rigorous treatment that has visibly transformed his appearance.
Streak, a vital figure in Zimbabwe’s golden generation, stood out as one of the nation’s finest cricketers. He was among the few players who accomplished the remarkable feat of both taking 100 wickets and scoring 1000 runs in Test cricket. His achievements extended to the 50-over format as well, where he notched up 200 wickets and 2000 runs.

Although they made it to the Super Sixes stage, they narrowly missed out on the semi-final berths due to a lower net run rate compared to New Zealand.
Streak’s legacy, however, was marred by controversy when he was found guilty of corruption by the ICC, leading to an eight-year ban from the sport’s governing body. Despite these challenges, he transitioned into coaching roles for both Zimbabwe and Bangladesh on the international stage. Streak also ventured into coaching for teams like Gujarat Lions and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
