Former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak has ended the swirling rumors of his demise, confirming that he is very much alive. The confusion arose when Henry Olonga, Streak’s former teammate, initially announced news of Streak’s passing. However, Olonga swiftly countered his own claim by sharing a screenshot of a WhatsApp chat with Streak.

In the chat, Streak unequivocally stated, “I am alive.” He politely requested Olonga to retract the earlier post that had spread false news about his death. Streak’s words read, “Revert this runout immediately, buddy.”

The official Zimbabwe Champions’ Account tweeted, “Relieved to confirm that Heath Streak, the former @ZimCricketv cricket legend, is very much alive and well. We continue to celebrate his remarkable contributions to the sport!”

England’s Barmy Army, the official handle of England cricket team fans, tweeted, “Amazing news to hear the Zimbabwean legend Heath Streak is alive and well, after previous reports of his demise.”

Fans reacted to the confusion surrounding Heath Streak’s status and the subsequent clarification. Some criticized Henry Olonga for sharing unverified information, and some expressed relief at the truth being revealed.
