Sukhu even shared that this was the first women’s cricket match he had ever watched, and he was deeply impressed by Renuka’s efforts in both the semifinal and final encounters. Renuka Singh’s journey to success has been anything but easy. Her mother, Sunita Thakur, recalled the early days of struggle when Renuka’s salary was just ₹1,500, and she had to borrow ₹15,000 to buy a pair of cricket shoes.

Sunita expressed pride in her daughter’s perseverance and urged the government to provide her with a permanent job for stability and encouragement.

During the call, Renuka’s voice was faintly heard, seemingly requesting a job from the CM, who responded warmly, saying, “Yes, I’ll make sure to do it. You’ve met me before, and now I’ll see what I can do about your job. Be happy first—you’ve made us all proud.”
