Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has candidly shared his concerns about his fitness. Stating that no cricketer likes to get injured, he opened up about his additional workload as an all-rounder and asserted that he is working hard to improve his fitness as well. However, Reddy claimed one wicket and contributed an unbeaten 26 off 13 as India beat New Zealand by four wickets at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Saturday, October 24, in the second T20I as well.

At a post-match press conference, Reddy said: “It’s just part and parcel of the game. I am an all-rounder, so I have to do both batting and bowling. Even in practice sessions, I have to do my workloads. I have more work to do than anyone on the field and off the field. It’s just something I am working on. Nobody likes to get injured.”

“I am happy that I am playing for the Indian team. I am taking in one day at a time. If I turn up and play a game the next day for my team, that would be a great sign, no matter where I play. I hope I don’t get injured, but I am still in the process,” he further added.

Ever since returning from injury, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been reasonably impressive with the ball for Team India. On Saturday in Christchurch, he dismissed the well-set Bevon Jacobs, registering figures of 1-31 from three overs as well.
“I am bowling in different situations. It’s just about experience. It’s just about bowling more and getting more experience. When the right time comes, I am able to deliver. That’s what is happening now,” he concluded.
