During the only ODI of Australia’s tour of Ireland in 2012 at Belfast, former Australian speedster, Brett Lee, provided the visitors with the best of starts.
On a wicket and conditions which suited fast bowling, Lee dismissed the opposition captain in William Porterfield on the first ball of the innings.
Ed Joyce, who came in to bat at No. 3, was dismissed in a similar fashion two deliveries later. Lee’s first spell read 3-1-10-2. Ireland couldn’t resume their innings after rain played the spoilsport in the 11th over.
Had more play would have happened, there was possibility of Lee and other Australian fast bowlers causing more damage.
