England fast bowler Stuart Broad will be undergoing scans on his left ankle as he suffered a recurring injury that kept him out of action for a decent amount of time from Nottingham’s County Championship game against Worcestershire. He got to bowl just eight overs in Worcestershire’s second innings and did not take the field for the final two sessions of the match.
While a full diagnosis of the injury is still not confirmed, Peter Moores, head coach of Nottinghamshire, believes the injury is manageable. He said, “Stuart’s sore ankle has been ongoing and it was stirred up a little bit when he landed in the footholds, so it made sense for him to come off the field when it was too sore for him to bow.”

As quoted in Nottingham’s website, Peter said, “It is manageable, but he has a lot of cricket to play in the rest of the summer. He will have a scan on it this morning. It was disappointing for him because he was desperate to get out there and was prowling around the dressing room, but injuries are injuries and you have to take heed of them.”
The ECB management, along with Test skipper Joe Root, will keep a close eye on Broad’s injury given the fact that England also has James Anderson on the treatment table. The fast bowling duo is expected to be up and running ahead of the country’s next big Test assignment, the start of the five-Test series against India on August 1.
It is a well-known fact that the English team will have a lot of dependency on their pacers when it comes to red-ball cricket. In India’s last tour, Indian skipper Virat Kohli was at the receiving end when he last faced Anderson and Broad in English conditions. The Indian skipper will be raring to make it big when he takes on the pace duo this time
