Former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is playing his landmark 100th Test at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Currently, India is hosting Sri Lanka in the opening Test of the two-match Test series. Ahead of the game, Kohli was felicitated as he received a special cap from the head coach Rahul Dravid.

Earlier in the game, the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharm had won the toss and decided to bat first. India lost both their openers, Rohit and Mayank Agarwal in the first 19 overs themselves. Virat Kohli came out to bat after the dismissal of Mayank in the 19th over and Virat received a huge uproar from the crowd as they welcomed him on his 100th Test.

Several former cricketers have come forward and congratulated Virat Kohli for reaching the landmark. However, he also has the chance of becoming the first Indian cricketer, to score a century in his 100th Test. He will also join the elite list of batters who have done so in the past and will be the 10th batsman overall.

The Delhi-based cricketer has amassed 7962 runs in 99 Tests with an average of 50.39. This series will be the first for Rohit Sharma as the Indian Test captain. He will look to have a winning start to his leadership and the team are favorites going into the series.

India head coach Rahul Dravid felicitated Kohli presenting him a special cap for 100th Test. Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma was also present during the felicitation ceremony. Dravid delivered a fantastic speech on the occasion saying that Kohli is a testament to everything great in the game.
