Experienced New Zealand Ross Taylor has currently been playing against India in the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC). However, he recently shared his sadness of not getting a signed jersey from the Indian cricket team on his 100th Test. He also said that he was jealous of Australia spinner Nathan Lyon because of this as well.

Notably, Lyon got a signed jersey from the Indian team after the Border-Gavaskar series which India won in January this year. The Gabba Test was his 100th match in the longer format for Australia and the gesture from Team India was applauded by the cricketing fraternity.

But Ross Taylor, who had played his 100th Test for New Zealand against India in Wellington last year, did not get anything from the Indian Team after they lost the match by 10 wickets as well.

“I played India in my 100th Test last year, and I didn’t get a shirt. I’m a bit jealous of Nathan. We played a couple of series before, and I’m watching the game and I’m watching him (Lyon) getting a shirt and I’m like ‘Aaah, okay!’” Ross Taylor said to The Grade Cricketer podcast.

Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor added 172-run partnership for the 3rd wicket stand.

Meanwhile, Taylor has praised Ajinkya Rahane for being an ambassador of the game. “I played with Rahane in Rajasthan Royals, he is a fantastic ambassador for the game of cricket,” Taylor again shared.

Meanwhile, New Zealand have successfully bundled India out for 217 in the first innings on the back of Kyle Jamieson’s fifer. Notably, it was his fifth 5-wicket haul in his 8th Test so far. Ajinkya Rahane top-scored for India with a stable 49 whereas the captain, Virat Kohli has made 44 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
