Team India captain Rohit Sharma recently opened up about his journey as an individual at the pre-match conference before the all-important semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. During the press conference, he was asked how he started as a young boy playing on the same ground and now leading the team in the marquee event, to which Rohit stated that he doesn’t have much time to think about it right now and he will only have time to reflect on his journey after November 19th, that is the final of the mega event as well.
“I don’t think there’s so much time to think about it (his journey). My focus is on the game and what we have in hand tomorrow. I seriously have no time to think about my journey. What it has been in the past. Probably after 19 November, I’ll think about it, but right now it’s just business and pure business of getting the job done for the team,” Rohit Sharma said.

He also opened up on the importance of performing well in such an important tournament and expressed confidence in the team’s ability to continue their strong performance in the ongoing World Cup as well. However, in the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, India will play against New Zealand. India finished the round-robin stage in first place, while New Zealand finished at the fourth spot to qualify for the semi-finals as well.
“It’s such a high-profile tournament, everybody is watching, and you want to display what one could cricket as Indian team. That is wha we’ve done in this tournament so far which is very, very good. We don’t really have to change too much. Being in that same mindset as we were before the start of the World Cup,” Rohit Sharma concluded.
