Former India player turned commentator Aakash Chopra feels Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja would be left
out of the squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand. He also returned to the 50-over team
for the recently concluded home series against West Indies as well.

Chopra said in his recent YouTube video: “You could have played either Ravindra Jadeja or Naman Dhir. You have, anyway, not played Ravindra Jadeja for a long time. He doesn’t play whenever Axar is there. I think he won’t be in the ODI squad for the New Zealand tour either. Ravindra Jadeja getting limited opportunities and not playing in this match makes it seem like the decision has been made. It comes across like they don’t want to go with Ravindra Jadeja.”

Aakash Chopra was not happy with India’s decision to keep all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy below Naman Dhir in the batting order for the third ODI as well. He added that Nitish was higher on the priority list, keeping the 2027 World
Cup in mind.

He said in the same video: “You brought Nitish Kumar Reddy back, which is good; he should be playing. You kept him below Naman Dhir. I don’t like it personally because you won’t be able to prepare Nitish like this. Looking from the World Cup’s perspective, you urgently need Nitish Kumar Reddy prepared.”
“Auqib Nabi played one match where 400 runs were scored. He got hit a lot; everyone did. Why did you play him? Because you needed a bowler who could bat a bit. He had a bad match, and you dropped him in the next match. You might have thought that his pace isn’t enough or that he won’t survive in ODI cricket. You knew these things before the match, but if you have played him in one match, I think it’s your moral duty to give him another chance,” he concluded.
