Netherlands has regained their ODI status after winning the 2015-17 ICC World Cricket League Championship, through which they became the 13th team to participate in the 2020-22 ICC ODI League. On the other hand, Nepal earned their first ever ODI status after finishing at the eighth position in the 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

In the meantime, Scotland and UAE have retained their ODI status after finishing at the fifth and sixth position respectively in the 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

Though the Scotland and UAE are in the 13th and 14th rank of the new ICC ODI ranking, Netherlands and Nepal haven’t opened their accounts in the ranking. They have to play at least four ODI matches to earn a spot in the ranking table.

According to the ICC media release, “Teams earn points from each match they play against oppositions with an ODI rating. Points and matches played between 1 May 2015 and 30 April 2017 will be weighted at 50 percent, whereas matches played after 1 May 2017 will be weighted at 100 percent.

“The positions of the 12 Test playing countries, who were already on the table, are not affected by the introduction of these new teams on the table.”

Scotland has earned 28 rating points and UAE has earned 18 rating points as they break out in the ICC ODI ranking.

In the meantime, England is leading the ICC ODI team rankings with 125 points while India is at the next position with 122 rating points.
