ICC Announces Match Officials For The Upcoming T20 World Cup 2024

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the lineup of match officials for the initial phase of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to unfold across the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies. Comprising twenty umpires and six match referees, this esteemed group is entrusted with overseeing the ninth edition of the tournament, featuring 20 teams competing in 55 matches over a span of 28 days.

The tournament will span nine venues, marking the largest ICC T20 World Cup to date. Among the distinguished umpires is Richard Illingworth, recipient of the prestigious David Shepherd Trophy for ICC Umpire of the Year at the 2023 ICC Awards. Joining him are seasoned officials such as Kumar Dharmasena, Chris Gaffaney, and Paul Reiffel, who famously officiated the final of the 2022 edition at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Excitingly, Jayaraman Madanagopal, Sam Nogajski, Allahudien Paleker, Rashid Riaz, and Asif Yaqoob are set to make their debut in senior men’s events, marking a significant milestone in their officiating careers.

The contingent of match referees is equally notable, with the return of Ranjan Madugalle, who presided over the 2022 Final, and Jeff Crowe, boasting the most T20I matches officiated. Also included is Andrew Pycroft, on the brink of overseeing his 150th T20I encounter.

 

The roster of match officials for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup comprises a diverse array of talents:

Umpires: Chris Brown, Kumar Dharmasena, Chris Gaffaney, Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Richard Illingworth, Allahudien Paleker, Richard Kettleborough, Jayaraman Madanagopal, Nitin Menon, Sam Nogajski, Ahsan Raza, Rashid Riaz, Paul Reiffel, Langton Rusere, Shahid Saikat, Rodney Tucker, Alex Wharf, Joel Wilson, and Asif Yaqoob.

Match Referees: David Boon, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle, Andrew Pycroft, Richie Richardson, and Javagal Srinath.
