Nuwan Zoysa, the former left-arm seamer of Sri Lanka, who has played for the national team in Tests and ODIs, has been banned for 6 years. The fast bowler has played 30 Tests and 90 ODIs. He made his Test debut against New Zealand way back in 1997 and became the first player in history to claim a hat-trick with his first 3 balls of a Test match as well.

Zoysa achieved the feat against Zimbabwe at Harare in November 1999 where he dismissed Trevor Gripper, Murray Goodwin and Neil Johnson. However, he claimed 108 wickets in the 50-over format for Sri Lanka as well. Meanwhile, he has 64 wickets in the longer format. Notably, he has picked up 1 five-wicket haul in Tests and ODIs too.

Nuwan Zoysa can bat well in the lower-order where he single-handedly won a game against Australia. He scored an unbeaten 47 against Australia in an ODI and helped his side win. Nuwan Zoysa has tried his hands in coaching where he worked in India with Goa Cricket Association and with Royal College & Nondescripts as fast bowling coach as well. After that, he had joined Sri Lankan Cricket where he was appointed to the National Fast Bowling Coaching Department.
