On, Friday, The International Cricket Council (ICC) summoned all its members for a Chief Executives’ Committee meeting. Speaking via a conference call, all the ICC members came together to discuss the future of resumption in the cricketing activities and how badly ahs the Corona Virus Pandemic affected the game of cricket.
The CEOs of the 12 Full Members and three Associate representatives were present during the call. All of them confirmed their full commitment to work together and address the challenges. The meeting heard updates from all attendees regarding the current situation in their own countries.

The CEC is continuing to think of contingency planning for all ICC global events. These include the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 scheduled to begin in October, later this year. The future of the World Test Championship and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League also came up.
ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said: “I am grateful to my fellow CEOs for their clear commitment to a unified approach to steering cricket through this pandemic. We will work in partnership for the best outcomes for the sport in relation to both ICC events and bilateral cricket.
“We agreed on the importance of making well informed, responsible decisions in relation to the resumption of international cricket. Health and Safety will be carefully considered before any decisions are arrived at in the best interests of the game.”
ICC Medical Committee Chairman, Dr. Peter Harcour gave an update n the discussion and topics talked about. He said,“ The ICC Medical Committee is working with Member medical representatives to build a comprehensive picture of the issues cricket is facing. We will create a roadmap for the resumption of international cricket.”

“It will include criteria for decision making and a checklist for the same. This will consider everything from player preparation to government restriction. The more teams, venues, and cities involved, the greater the risk. It has to be assessed and managed,” he added.
Kevin Roberts, Cricket Australia Chief Executive said: “Cricket Australia is working closely with the ICC. The Local Organising Committee and the Australian government are working in cohesion. It will help us understand exactly what it will take to play the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020.”
“We are also jointly exploring all other options in relation to staging the event. We will make the right decisions at the right time so we can host a wonderful celebration of the sport.”
