Cricketers of the Indian women’s team have witnessed a career-changing year in 2017 as three players have been included in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI and T20I ‘Teams of the Year’.
Indian left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht was the lone cricketer to find a place in both the ICC’s ODI and T20I teams of 2017, that featured three players from India in all.
Bisht is ranked 14th in ODIs and 12th in T20Is and took 34 wickets in 19 matches and 11 wickets in seven T20Is for India this year, from September 21, 2016 to date.
While veteran batter Mithali Raj was there with Bisht in the ODI squad, World Cup star Harmanpreet Kaur joined her in the T20I squad announced by the ICC today.
England’s Heather Knight named as captain of the ODI squad and Stafanie Taylor of the Windies appointed captain of the 20-over side.
Knight was named captain after she inspired her side to a stunning World Cup victory.
