The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the official theme song for the upcoming 2023 World Cup in India, titled ‘Dil Jashn Bole,’ on Wednesday, September 20. The song, composed by Pritam, is a celebration of cricket and India, featuring Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, along with other celebrities and content creators, including choreographer Dhanashree Verma, who is also Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife.

This World Cup marks the return of the tournament to India after 12 years, and ‘Dil Jashn Bole’ perfectly captures the excitement, buzz, and festivity that the event promises. The song’s lyrics are penned by Shloke Lal and Saaveri Verma, with vocals provided by a talented ensemble, including Nakash Aziz, Sreerama Chandra, Amit Mishra, Jonita Gandhi, AKASA, and featuring a rap by Charan.

Claire Furlong, the ICC General Manager for Marketing and Communications, expressed her excitement about the song’s launch in a statement released by Star Sports. She emphasized that the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is expected to be the biggest cricketing event ever, with millions of fans worldwide eagerly anticipating it.

Furlong praised the anthem for brilliantly capturing the passion and energy of India and its cricket fans, making the event even more special. Pritam, known for his recent success with the composition of Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Katha,’ expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to create this song.

The music director acknowledged cricket as India’s greatest passion and considered composing ‘Dil Jashn Bole’ for the World Cup a tremendous honor. Pritam highlighted that the song isn’t just for India’s 1.4 billion cricket fans but for the entire world, inviting everyone to come to India and partake in the grandest celebration of cricket.

The six-week-long extravaganza is scheduled to commence with a match that echoes the final of the 2019 World Cup, featuring England and New Zealand.
