Lorne Balfe, renowned for his work on major film scores such as “Mission: Impossible,” “Black Widow,” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” has crafted an anthem that will serve as the official musical representation for ICC world events. The composition, recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, seamlessly blends traditional orchestral sounds with unique cricket-related elements, capturing the distinctive crack of leather on willow and the electrifying roar of the crowd.

Reflecting on the project, Balfe shared his enthusiasm: “It’s been a fantastic experience working with the ICC to create the new anthem. This piece is meant to symbolize unity and encapsulate the spirit of every boundary crossed and wicket taken in this timeless sport,” he explained.

Chris Tetley, ICC Head of Events, expressed his excitement about the anthem’s potential to resonate with cricket fans worldwide.

“We are thrilled to introduce this special project to the world. Developing this new sonic brand identity has been a meticulous process, much like the intricate composition itself. Our goal is for this anthem to evoke the spirit of cricket whenever it is heard, taking listeners through the highs, lows, anticipation, and triumphs that the sport embodies,” Tetley said.
