In a dramatic turn of events during the Pakistan Super League clash between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators, tempers flared as veteran cricketers Iftikhar Ahmed and Jason Roy engaged in a heated argument during the match. Multan Sultans set a formidable target of 185 runs in their innings, led by captain Mohammad Rizwan’s impressive 69 off 47 balls and Johnson Charles’ explosive 53 off 29 deliveries.
Towards the end, Iftikhar Ahmed’s quick cameo of 20 runs off just eight balls bolstered their total, giving Multan a significant advantage going into the second innings. However, tensions rose in the third over of Quetta Gladiators’ innings when Jason Roy was dismissed and appeared to be discussing a potential LBW review with his batting partner.

Ultimately, Roy departed for a mere three runs, adding to Quetta’s woes. Quetta Gladiators struggled with the bat, losing wickets at regular intervals and failing to build partnerships. Apart from Omair Yousuf’s promising 37 runs, no other batsman managed to make a significant contribution.

The relentless bowling attack from Multan, spearheaded by David Willey and Usama Mir who claimed three wickets each, restricted Quetta to a paltry total of 106 runs. Multan Sultans clinched a comfortable victory, cementing their position as the league leaders.
Despite the defeat, Quetta Gladiators secured a spot in the playoffs. They are set to face Islamabad United in the Eliminator, while Multan Sultans will take on Peshawar Zalmi in Qualifier 1 in the upcoming matches.
