The iconic pop band Imagine Dragons is set to bring their electrifying performance to the closing ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. This much-anticipated event will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26, just before the final match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). As Shreyas Iyer’s Kolkata Knight Riders prepare to face off against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the audience will be treated to a high-energy musical spectacle featuring Imagine Dragons’ biggest hits, including “Thunder,” “Believer,” and “Bones.”
The band’s lead vocalist, Dan Reynolds, has confirmed his presence for this exciting match. In a promotional video released by Star Sports on X (formerly Twitter), Dan Reynolds enthusiastically declared, “This is the stage where we come alive. The moment is here.” The video also revealed Reynolds’ admiration for Virat Kohli, praising the former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain and calling him “The GOAT.”
Reynolds expressed his excitement about performing in India, stating, “Visiting India was the highlight of my entire career,” and lauding Kohli as “the God of all fans.” The promotional clip also included snippets of IPL stars such as Virat Kohli, Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Andre Russell, Heinrich Klaasen, and Dinesh Karthik.
