The Australian skipper, Aaron Finch made the wrong call again at the toss in the 4th ODI against India as the hosts elected to bat first at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Despite the dryness of the surface and chances of dew, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli felt, would help give their batsmen a slight edge in the first innings as their bowlers are good enough with the wet ball. However, the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan did well as Team India reached the total of 358/9 in their quota of 50 overs.
The veteran Indian opener, Rohit Sharma has finally come back to his form with a sensational 95 against Australia in the 4th ODI at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. It was a sensational and effortless knock, to say the least, and just when he looked set for yet another ODI century, he fell to a mistimed shot of the ball of Jhye Richardson.
Earlier in the game, India made four changes in the squad as, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami made way for KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. On the other hand, Australia also made a couple of changes as Marcus Stoinis and Nathan Lyon made way for Ashton Turner and Jason Behrendroff.

After the brilliant start of scoring 193 runs for the opening wicket, the wicket of Rohit made the Australian fielders a relieved unit. However, Shikhar Dhawan then went on to register his highest ODI score of 143. With just a couple of matches before the World Cup, the opening duo needed to come good and they did that in style. Shikhar Dhawan, in particular, looked in ominous touch and took the Australian bowlers to the cleaners.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul has come out after Rohit dismissal, Rahul is playing his first match of the series and will surely look to get some important runs under his belt. When the article was written, India was 209/1 at the end of 34 overs with Dhawan and Rahul at the crease. However, Shikhar was also dismissed by Pat Cummins in the 38th over and then India witnessed a slight downfall as none of the batsmen was able to do well after that barring Rishabh Pant and Vijay Shankar.

Pant smashed 36 runs off just 24 balls with the help of 4 boundaries and a six, while Shankar smashed 26 runs off 15 deliveries with the help of 2 maximums and a boundary. Because of them, India managed to score 176 runs in the last 20 overs with 91 came in the last 10, in which they lost six wickets as well. However, the game ended on a high note for India, as on the final ball of the innings, Jasprit Bumrah smashed a six on his very first ball of the match.
Here is how Twitterati reacted after India’s batting:
India's openers are still going strong in Mohali. At the midpoint of their innings both Shikhar Dhawan (82*) and Rohit Sharma (64*) have half-centuries, Australia yet to make a breakthrough with the hosts 148/0 after 25 overs.#INDvAUS LIVE ➡️ https://t.co/X4QGtIjbn2 pic.twitter.com/OB3mf4rCM1

Interesting that Dhawan's strike rate tends to plateau while Rohit starts slow and picks up through the middle overs. Just gone past Dhawan (on SR) who had a head start

That last six from Bumrah had everyone in splits. Even on an excellent batting surface, 358 is a formidable score.

Bumrah is the best bet in death overs, in both the innings.
