2nd April 2011!
A day that no Indian cricket fan will ever forget. The whole nation came together to witness the six over long-on by MS Dhoni on the bowling of Nuwan Kulasekara to seal one of the most memorable wins in Indian cricket history. After 1983, this was India’s first world cup win in ODI cricket. The winning scenes are still etched firmly in the memory.
If an average cricket fan feels so much passion for this moment then imagine what must be the situation of those who were actually a part of this wonderful dream. On the seventh anniversary of India’s 2011 World Cup, a few players from the winning squad made their feeling public on Twitter. Here are the posts:-
The Opener Virender Sehwag, who lit up the World Cup by hitting boundaries on the first ball he faced in almost every match, posted his photo with the Trophy in the Wankhede dressing room
