India captain Harmanpreet Kaur faced the brunt of the International Cricket Council (ICC) as she was handed a two-match ban for showing dissent at the umpires during the third women’s ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur. The ICC found Kaur guilty of two separate breaches of the ICC Code of Conduct, resulting in a fine of 75 percent of her match fees.

The outburst occurred during the third and final ODI against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. Kaur’s gesture after the leg-before-wicket decision by the umpire and her subsequent comments during the ceremony caused a stir in the cricketing world.
While gesturing that the ball had come off her bat, Kaur hit the stumps in frustration after the successful appeal by Nahida Akter. Despite a catch being taken at slip, Kaur expressed her dissatisfaction with the decision. During the presentation ceremony, Kaur continued to show her discontent, describing the umpiring as “pathetic” and making animated gestures. She even asked Bangladeshi counterpart Nigar Sultana to bring the umpires for a picture with the trophy.
