After the WTC, India will engage in a series of back-to-back ODIs leading up to the ODI World Cup 2023, as part of their preparations for the prestigious tournament. To ensure the players remain fresh and manage their workload effectively, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly granted a month-long break from June to mid-July, leading to the cancellation of India’s three-match ODI home series against Afghanistan, originally scheduled between June 20 and 30, according to Cricbuzz.

However, if both teams progress to the final, they are expected to face each other three times in the tournament, which will feature a total of 12 ODIs.

India will then host the ICC Men’s 2023 ODI World Cup, commencing on October 5. This highly anticipated tournament will comprise 48 matches, with each team participating in nine games during the league stage.
