Team India will tour England and they are likely to be asked to undergo only a three-day hard quarantine before getting permission to practice in a bio-secure environment during isolation prior to the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final in Southampton where they will take on New Zealand.
Notably, New Zealand are in England now where they will play against the host in a two-match Test series from June 2 before the much-awaited final and they also followed the three-day quarantine as well. On the other hand, the WTC final will begin on June 18. After the WTC final, India’s five Test matches against England will begin in August-September.
However,b Team India are currently in Mumbai where they are in the bio-secure bubble and quarantine as well before leaving for the UK. Notably, India are already on the red list of the UK government due to the rising number of Covid-19 positive cases in the country. Meanwhile, New Zealand players who are in England were earlier asked to undergo a mandatory three-day hard quarantine before they are being allowed to practice in groups of six as well.

However, they had arrived in the UK on Monday and Tuesday in batches. “The first three days will be spent in hotel room isolation, before mini-training groups of six can be established from days 4-6, pending negative covid results,” New Zealand Cricket had shared on arrival.
On the other hand, news also came that the Test schedule between India and England might be changed to host the rest of the Indian Premier League matches take place there as well. Notably, the series will begin on August 4 and conclude on September 14 as well.

But the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has shared that “no official request” has come from India yet to change the dates of the five-match Test series between England and India which is all set to take place in August and September.
