India’s men’s cricket team is all set to tour Bangladesh later this year for a white-ball series featuring three ODIs and three T20Is. The series will kick off on August 17, with the first two ODIs scheduled to take place in Mirpur, followed by the third in Chattogram on August 23. This marks another chapter in the growing cricketing rivalry between the two neighbours, with both boards eager to provide fans with high-quality cricket.

Following the ODIs, the T20I leg of the tour will begin on August 26 in Chattogram, with the final two matches shifting back to Mirpur on August 29 and 31. Interestingly, this will be the first-ever T20I bilateral series between India and Bangladesh to be held on Bangladeshi soil, adding extra excitement to the calendar.

Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury expressed his enthusiasm for the tour, calling it “one of the most exciting and anticipated events” in their home season. “India have set the benchmark in world cricket, and we expect some closely contested matches. The fans are in for a treat,” he said.

Historically, India has dominated the ODI format against Bangladesh, winning 33 out of 42 matches, including 18 of 25 played in Bangladesh. Their most recent ODI meeting came during the Champions Trophy in Dubai, where India clinched a comfortable six-wicket win en route to lifting the trophy under Rohit Sharma’s leadership.

In T20Is too, India boasts a commanding record, having won 16 of the 17 matches played against Bangladesh. With Indian players currently busy in the IPL 2025, this tour will follow the conclusion of the domestic league and the high-profile Test series against England in June, setting the stage for a busy and crucial few months for the Men in Blue.
