The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced the schedule for the much-awaited Asia Cup 2023. The 16th edition of the continental tournament will be played in the One Day International (ODI) format, allowing teams to prepare for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 hosted by India.
The Asia Cup 2023 will feature six teams divided into two groups. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, and Nepal, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4 stage, where they will compete for a spot in the final.

A unique aspect of the tournament is its hybrid model, with matches co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This makes it the first-ever Asia Cup to be co-hosted by multiple countries. Originally, Pakistan was the sole host, but due to the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision not to participate, a hybrid model was proposed. Pakistan will host four matches, while Sri Lanka will host nine.
