India pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his wife Nupur on Wednesday became the parents for the first time as his wife Nupur gave birth to a baby girl at the Fortis hospital in Delhi. However, they got married on 23rd November 2017 in a ceremony in Meerut. And, the news of the birth of their first child comes just a day after they celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, however, was with the Indian team as he was a part of India’s three-match T20I series against New Zealand at home. He was in Kolkata on Sunday, leading the bowling attack in the final T20I against New Zealand as well where India won convincingly. Even, the host won the series by 3-0.
However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been facing a tough time off the field in 2021 as he has lost his father to liver cancer earlier in May. Even, he has earlier dealt with injuries and was also out of the senior national side for quite a long time. Even, he didn’t have a great Indian Premier League season for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2021 as he could only manage 6 wickets in 11 matches.
He was picked for the T20 World Cup in the UAE despite his poor show with the ball and he has played only one match – the opener against Pakistan. After conceding 25 runs in 3 overs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was dropped and did not return to the playing XI at the mega event as well. He, however, did well during the home series against New Zealand.
