On Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian squads for the T20I series against New Zealand and the One Day International (ODI) series against Australia and New Zealand. As expected, the veteran cricketer MS Dhoni has made a comeback to the t20I squad as he was earlier dropped from the T20I squads against Windies and Australia. Apart from him, Kedar Jadhav has also made a comeback to the ODI and T20I squads.
The ODI squad comprises of 16 members on the other hand the T20I squad comprises of 15 members. The young pacer Khaleel Ahmed has managed to retain his position in both the squadsSurprisinglyly, despite the inclusion of Hardik Pandya in the squads, his elder brother Krunal Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja have also been retained in the T20I and ODI squads respectively.
Jadhav was also out of reckoning from the T20I tea, but he has now been recalled for the shortest format again as he has played just 9 games in the format for India. Despite a plethora of bad performances, the Indian opener KL Rahul has managed to find a spot in the squad as well, which is also a surprising factor.

Earlier, the Indian chief selector MSK Prasad dropped Dhoni for the T20I series against Windies and Australia owing to poor form. But, he had confirmed that the veteran cricketer is their first-choice wicketkeeper for the World Cup. Moreover, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik, who took over the reign in the absence of Dhoni also retained their places.
In the bowling department, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Jasprit Bumrah were the automatic selections whereas Mohammed Shami’s inclusion has also been a bit surprising.
