After losing the first ODI of the three-match ODI series against the visiting side India, the hosts England made a superb comeback in the ODI series by winning the second one at Lord’s (London) on Saturday.

Starting from 0-1 behind in the three-match ODI series, English skipper Eoin Morgan decided to bat first after winning the toss. With the help of Joe Root’s century and two more half-centuries, England managed to put a big total of 322/7 at the end of 50 overs.

In reply, all the Indian batsmen failed to play a big knock as they were bundled out for 236 runs in 50 overs and England won the game by 86 runs.

By winning this important second ODI, England levels the three-match ODI series by 1-1.

  • Second wicketkeeper-batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs. The first cricketer was Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka, Asia XI & ICC World XI) who scored 13,341 ODI runs as a wicketkeeper-batsman.
