In the T20I cricket history, they have met only once and that was in the 2009 ICC World T20 Group A game at Nottingham where India had comfortably beat them by 8 wickets with 15 balls to spare.

Coming to the upcoming series, while India is the favourite side, Ireland has a great opportunity to showcase some fights against the strongest side that can inspire the whole nation in the shorter international cricket format.

Before the beginning of the short series, we will look at some important T20I stats related with this series.
