India U-19 team tried to take the revenge of senior team’s defeat against South Africa in the warm-up fixture against the same opponent in the build-up of U-19 World Cup 2018 in New Zealand. Indian boys completed a comprehensive victory by 189-run on Tuesday, which gave them a boost before the marquee tournament.

India elected to bat after winning the toss and opener Prithvi Shaw gave a 50+ run opening start with Manjot Kalra. The star of the innings was Himanshu Rana and Aryan Juyal with 68 and 86 respectively. These efforts rode India to 332 for 8 after 50 overs.

In response, South Africa’s batting order collapsed for 143 all-out against Bengal pacer Ishan Porel, who took a four-wicket haul in the game. Jean du Plessis was the lone fighter in the contest who notched up a fifty in 82 balls before getting out in 38th over.

Brief scores: India: 332/8 in 50 overs (Aryan Juyal 86, Himanshu Rana 68; Akhona Mnyaka 40/3). South Africa: 143 all out in 38.3 overs (Jean du Plessis 50, Jiveshan Pillay 29; Ishan Porel 23/4).
