It will be a historic moment when Afghanistan team will come on the field on Thursday morning, wearing white dresses for the first time in international cricket. The Asian country will be the 12th team to play Test cricket when they will kick-off the one-off Test on Thursday morning against the top Test ranked team India at Bengaluru.

Afghanistan team is very excited to begin their Test cricket journey. After becoming an affiliate member of ICC in 2001, Afghanistan has gradually increased their level in cricket. Since becoming an associate member of ICC in 2013, Afghanistan has impressed with their quality of crickets in both ODI and T20I formats.

Though Afghanistan is currently performing very well in both formats, the players have no experiences in the longer international format. The team is depended on some players like Rashid Khan, Asghar Stanikzai, Mohammad Shahzad, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman etc. However, they will still miss the service of pacer Dawlat Zadran as he was ruled out due to a knee injury. However, if the players do well and perform as a team on the field, they can impress the cricket world again even in their first outing in Test cricket.

The no.1 side India is in no mood to take lightly the newest Test cricket team. Apart from missing their regular captain Virat Kohli, the batting is still enough strong as Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane etc. are available for this game along with the recently in-form Dinesh Karthik.
