The third T20I match of the 5-match series between India and South Africa will be played in Visakhapatnam on the 14th of June. The hosts have faced two consecutive defeats in the series and would be desperate to not concede the series in this game. After hunting down India by 7 wickets in the first match, South Africa nailed them down in the second T20I as well, by 4 wickets. India had a pretty ordinary show with the bat in the second T20I at Cuttack.
After being asked to bat, the men in blue only managed to score 148 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave India another outstanding start with the ball, nailing down the Proteas 29-3 after 6 overs. However, skipper Bavuma and Heinrich Klaasen made a partnership of 64 runs for the 4th wicket and they eventually won the game with 10 balls to spare. Heinrich Klaasen added 81 runs while Bavuma scored 35.

In the 19 meetings between the two sides so far, India is leading the charts 9-8 against the Proteas in the head-to-head battles. In the last 5 meetings, South Africa s ahead with a 3-2 margin. Another electrifying contest is anticipated here at Visakhapatnam on Tuesday between these two sides.

In his first press conference of the series, Rahul Dravid spoke about managing the expectations of opportunities for the youngsters like Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik. The bowlers didn’t do much wrong in Cuttack, but if a change is mooted, Avesh Khan could be replaced by Arshdeep – who offers left-arm angle and exceptional death-overs skills.

South Africa
There is no confirmation on the fitness of Quinton de Kock before the match. So, it’s likely the accommodation arrived at in his absence in Cuttack – Reeza Hendricks to open the batting and Heinrich Klaasen behind the stumps – will be repeated. Besides, there is no need to make changes to the winning combination.
