India Women added a refreshing twist to their preparations for the upcoming T20I series against England when an intense training session turned into a lively water-balloon battle. With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup approaching fast, the Indian camp focused on sharpening fielding skills through a creative challenge introduced by fielding coach Munish Bali.

The concept was simple but effective — players had to catch water balloons with soft hands, replicating the technique required when taking catches on the cricket field. The drill not only tested reflexes and coordination but also brought plenty of laughter and energy to the training ground.
India’s fielding specialist Radha Yadav was among the players actively involved in the challenge, showing impressive control during the exercise. However, once the competition ended, the mood shifted completely as the players turned the session into a fun-filled celebration. Kranti Goud’s team emerged victorious against Nandini Sharma’s side and immediately began celebrating with water balloons.

India will begin their Women’s T20 World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan, led by Fatima Sana, at Edgbaston on June 14. The group also features Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh and the Netherlands, making every match vital in the race for the knockout stages.
India’s batting unit, featuring Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues, remains one of the most dangerous in world cricket. All-rounders Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav provide balance with both bat and ball, while Renuka Singh’s swing bowling could prove highly effective in English conditions.
