Parents hold a special place for every child. While there shouldn’t be any specific day to celebrate Father’s Day or Mother’s Day, the world celebrates June 20 as Father’s Day. While everyone is wishing their fathers’ on this special occassion, Indian cricketers are no different as they also share good wishes for their fathers.

Notably, the Indian cricket team is in England for the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand and then a five-match Test series against England. And, the second string of Indian players are currently undergoing the mandatory quarantine period for the upcoming limited-overs series in Sri Lanka next month.

“Happy father’s day to all the fathers all across the world. Of all the wonderful things that God has blessed me with, being a father is by far the greatest joy and blessing As I miss my old man this day, I also celebrate our memories together,” tweeted Virat Kohli.

However, as far as the game is concerned, New Zealand managed to bundle Indian cricketers within 217 on the board. On the other hand, Team India batting coach Vikram Rathour has earlier said that a 250 plus score in the first innings will be a good one considering the conditions as he believes it will put India in a fighting position against a strong side like New Zealand in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final in Southampton.

“We would like to score as many runs as possible but 250 plus will be a reasonable score in these conditions,” Rathour said at the day end press conference. “Batting is about scoring runs. Rohit and Gill showed a lot of intent and looked to score wherever they can. Hats off to Virat and Rahane for the manner in which they batted but a lot of credit should also got to the openers.”

However, he also opened up about the claims that Cheteshwar Pujara is facing some technical problems as he has not been in good form and also has been hit at least four times on the helmet in Test matches recently as well.

“We are not really concerned and he is a good player. I don’t think pace is an issue with him. Till he batted, he looked solid and he has a role to play in the team. Today also, he played 50 odd balls. He just needs to convert those starts. It”s going to happen very soon,” Vikram Rathour signed off.
