Sri Lanka seems to be in deep trouble against India on Day 1 of the final Test match of the two-match series at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. They were reduced to 16/3 in six overs after India posted a decent score of 252 in their first innings. India’s fiery fast bowler, Mohammed Shami started his spell magnificently by dismissing, the Lankan skipper, Dimuth Karunaratne.

Mohammed Shami came into the attack in the sixth over and managed to churn out a peach of delivery after coming round the wicket to the Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne. They nipped back sharply from outside the off-stump and it breached the gap between bat and pad and cleaned up Dimuth Karunaratne. The Sri Lankan skipper strode forward to defend, but eventually missed the line before the ball rattled the stumps.

Earlier, Shami’s fast bowling, partner Jasprit Bumrah took the earlier wickets, and now, with Shami’s reward, Sri Lanka were left reeling at 16/3. They are still 202 runs behind after 17 overs of their innings as Shami got another Sri Lankan wicket. It would be more than difficult for Sri Lanka to regain the control of the match, especially from this stage.
