Indian Fans Applaud As Rishabh Pant Scores A Fifty In the 2nd ODI

The young Indian wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant churned out a fluent fifty in the third and the final ODI of the ongoing series against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. Pant walked out to bat at no.5 when India was three wickets down for a score of 42 with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shikhar Dhawan back in the pavilion in the first 10 overs itself.

Rishabh Pant scored a fluent fifty in the third ODI against West Indies. India’s wicket-keeper batter looked in good touch as he scored 4th half-century of his career in ODIs from 47 balls. During his knock, Rishabh Pant smashed one-six and five boundaries. Pant alongside Shreyas Iyer steadied India’s innings after a top-order collapse triggered by Alzarri Joseph’s double blow to get rid of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the 4th over of the game.

In th early part of his knock, Rishabh Pant took his time during the early part of his innings to make sure he was well set. After having faced 20 balls, Rishabh Pant started to smash the ball around to make sure India was on course to set a decent total against the visitors. The young southpaw batter was dismissed for 56 after facing 54 balls by Hayden Walsh. He was looking good to score the maiden fifty of his ODI career.

Earlier in the game, West Indies stand-in skipper, Nicholas Pooran lost the toss, and India decided to bat first citing some spice in the pitch early in the innings. The Widnes made one change in the playing XIs as Hayden Walsh replaced Akeal Hosein in the playing Xi. On the other hand, India made as many as three changes in their playing XI.

As KL Rahul had a niggle, Shikhar Dhawan replaced him whereas, Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Hooda came in place of Deepak Hooda and Shardul Thakur.
