The veteran Indian gloveman, Wriddhiman Saha will be expected to miss out on the England tour after testing positive for the coronavirus. The team will travel to England to play the championship final and a 5-match Test series in June. However, the team might be missing several crucial cogs ahead of the important series of the year. Apart from injuries, Saha has tested positive for the COVID-19 once again. He was found positive during the recently postponed IPL 2021. He was one of the players to test positive alongside Varun Chakravarty, Amit Mishra, and Sandeep Warrier amidst a bio-bubble environment.

Along with players several members of the support staff also tested positive for the virus. This scenario also led to the postponement of the most celebrated T20 tournament around the world. However, Indian cricketers are now focussing on the World Test Championship Final.

Wriddhiman Saha is in the probables as a backup option for the young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant. However, after testing positive for COVID-19, he is most likely to miss the all-important series in England in June. Alongside Saha, KL Rahul and Prasidh are also in the 22-member provisional team for the World Test Championship Final. Krishna is yet to test negative for the virus, while Rahul is recovering from appendicitis surgery.

Wriddhiman Saha was tested a couple of times in the last 1 week and one of the tests came negative. The veteran wicket-keeper is now asymptomatic and has no fever and body ache. However, he needs to test negative for the green light to play in England.
