The aftermath of South Africa’s dominant win over India in the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has taken an ugly turn on social media. An influencer has deleted a video featuring David Miller after claiming she received rape threats and body-shaming comments online. The controversy began after South Africa defeated India national cricket team by 76 runs in Ahmedabad last Sunday.

David Miller played a crucial role in the victory, scoring a composed half-century that helped his team post a strong total of 187/7. The left-handed batter’s innings proved vital as South Africa eventually bundled India out for just 111, handing the hosts a heavy defeat in a high-stakes Super 8 clash of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Following the match, influencer Princy Parikh shared a light-hearted reel on social media featuring Miller. In the clip, she appeared to jokingly tease the South African star by walking around him and slow-clapping. However, what was intended as a playful moment quickly spiralled into a wave of online abuse.

Parikh later revealed that the comment section was flooded with graphic threats and insulting remarks about her appearance. The severity of the messages forced her to delete the video from Facebook and address the issue publicly on Instagram.

“Deleted my reel with David Miller from Facebook because I absolutely couldn’t bear so many graphic and disturbing rape threats and hundreds of comments body shaming me. I feel like disappearing now,” she wrote on Instagram Stories.

She also said she plans to take legal action against those responsible for the abusive messages. According to Parikh, she intends to file a police complaint and expose the accounts involved.

“I am going to file a police complaint against all of these people and others that I have blocked. I will put all their usernames with their messages on my story for people and their employers to know what kind of potential criminals they are surrounded with. Nobody deserves this,” she added.

Meanwhile, India’s heavy defeat has complicated its path to the semi-finals. With a damaging net run rate of -3.8, the defending champions must win their remaining matches convincingly to stay in contention. India will next face Zimbabwe in a must-win clash in Chennai.
