During the 45th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Delhi, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Sarfraz Khan played a strange shot to be dismissed in a strange manner.

After Virat Kohli won the toss and put the home team in to bat, Delhi Daredevils scored 181-4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Daredevils’ innings was powered by Rishabh Pant in the middle overs and Abhishek Sharma in to slog overs.

In the second innings, Kohli was seen leading from the front after Royal Challengers Bangalore had lost their openers cheaply. As expected, Kohli took the onus of chasing the set target onto him and formed a partnership for the same with de Villiers. However, wickets (including Kohli) kept tumbling to make the match more interesting.

One such wicket was of Sarfraz Khan’s. It happened on the penultimate delivery of the 18th over when Sarfraz Khan played a shot against a Harshal Patel full-toss. Shreyas Iyer had placed a fine fine-leg which came into play as the ball went straight to him. Prithvi Shaw, the fielder placed, took the catch on the second attempt to dismiss the batsman.
