During the 15th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals’ captain Ajinkya Rahane started in the affirmative by hitting four fours off ocnsecutive deliveries against Sunil Narine.

Dinesh Karthik, captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, had won the toss and chose to field. Both the teams remianed unchanged. The home team not making a change came as a surprise to many people.

Rahane hit four fours off consecutive balls.

Karthik chose to open the bowling with spin on both ends in Piyush Chawla and Kuldeep Yadav. More spin in the form of Sunil Narine was brought in as first change in the fourth over. By this time, the Royals had scored a paltry 9 runs in the first over.

In a bid to up the ante, Rahane swept the first Narine delivery for a boundary on the leg side. On the following delivery, Rahane stepped out of his crease to hit another four over the bowler’s head. By this time, pressure had got the better of Narine, who followed this up with a couple of short balls. Rahane used his back foot to full effect to hit both these balls through the off-side for a couple of boundaries.

Two runs on the last two deliveries of the over meant that Narine had gone for 18 runs in hi first over. Watch the full video:
